To the Cresftield Community and Neighbors:

We wish to thank you for participating in our Community Forum.

We also thank Westminster Gardens for hosting such a large and lively group.

A lot of learning was done on our side and while we had hoped the discussion would focus on the project, we understand there are greater issues and history at play. Although we have no influence over past decisions, we are fully committed to focusing on the development and support moving forward on your behalf.

When it comes down to it, we see ourselves as new neighbors to this community, and we took a lot of feedback that we have already applied to the project. We want to become an asset for the community, and ideally, help deliver some needed improvements - that you so honestly pointed out. That being said, please see visit our FAQ for information on process, but in the meantime, please see below, because we heard you loud and clear…

WEST ALLEY

We met with the City following our meeting, and all agree - there is support for us to close the alley with the park investment. Thank you for sharing your issues with cut-through traffic via the alley - it was your messages that helped get this done.

TRAFFIC CALMING / 210 BYPASS

We appreciate what a tight knit community this is, and recognize that the streets in this area should not be used as a bypass to congestion on the 210 freeway or Foothill Blvd. That being said, we have consulted with the City who has agreed to study traffic calming measures that would reduce current speeds and traffic volumes that affect your streets. Solutions for this matter will be incorporated into the EIR Traffic Study in response to existing bypass impacts. Again, thank you for sharing, we are excited to see what options may exist to make improvements.

NORTH WALL

We enjoyed conversing with neighbors and hearing what they think would be a benefit. One such aspect was to introduce more landscaping along the north edge, as opposed to a wall. It was believed the wall would enhance privacy for neighbors on Bloomdale, but we heard you. We are willing to look at alternatives such as hedges or trees to create a more lush separation - and of course, we will not ask that anyone make changes to their property.

We know this isn’t everything you’ve suggested, but these are the most impactful and immediate results and wanted to share ASAP.

That said, we look forward to continuing to work together. Now to focus on how the project could benefit neighbors on other streets such as Crestfield and Fernley.

Thank you again, and please feel to reach out to us with your comments or questions.
